Not rude at all. In fact, you've clearly put in a great deal of effort
on this, and probably now understand the avision backend better than
any current SANE developer. That makes you a valuable resource, even
without access to the equipment. Perhaps in the future you would
consider taking up the maintainer role on that backend?
