[sane-devel] [iscan] New release available

Dear all,

First of all, apologies for not announcing any of our releases since
November 2010 on the list.  My bad.

A new release of Image Scan! for Linux has been made available at our
website[1].  This release updates both the core and data packages.  For
information on which versions of what packages you need, please see the
FAQ[2] on that topic.

Below is a summary of the changes since the last announcement on this
mailing list.

Noteworthy changes to the core package:

  * now wraps overly long model names in scanner selection dialog
  * now uses the document's binding edge to orient all images the same
    way up for double-sided ADF scans saved to PDF.  This enables this
    feature for all devices capable of such scans.
  * fixes handling of error conditions in the PNG support that could
    crash the application when a paper jam occurs
  * fixes handling of error conditions in interpreter plugin modules
    that could lead to a crash

    devices
  * fixes support for predefined color correction settings for those

  * fixes a memory leak when repeatedly calling sane_get_devices
  * fixes memory corruption when using the short resolution list option
  * fixes the monitor button option to be read-only
  * fixes exit behavior when canceling the scanner selection dialog
    when iscan is used as a GIMP plugin
  * updates documentation to better correspond to reality

Changes to the epkowa.desc file against the latest version in the git
repository in have been attached.  If someone could commit these to
sane-backends that would be appreciated.
