Yes, it has. It's listed as "Generation 4"
Even, the first macro definition for MP250 corresponds with the secod part
of the usb id:
#define MP250_PID 0x173a
Bus 001 Device 009: ID 04a9:173a Canon, Inc.
The MP250 is also registered as a device at the bottom of the file:
DEVICE ("Canon PIXMA MP250", "MP250", MP250_PID, 600, 638, 877,

$ whereis scanimage
scanimage: /usr/bin/scanimage /usr/share/man/man1/scanimage.1.gz
$ ls -l /usr/lib/sane/libsane-pixma.so*
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 23 jul 22 08:30 /usr/lib/sane/libsane-pixma.so
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 23 jul 22 08:30 /usr/lib/sane/libsane-pixma.so.1
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 133052 jul 19 22:13
- run scanimage as root to see if it might be a permissions issue
I already did, and the same result.
