hi all,

thanks for the responses.

been experimenting.  i'm shifting to tiff images, but think its best
to stick with
pdf for the simple viewing platform.  my target audience are windows users and
pdf is more dominant there.

it was interesting that gramps came up.  my next task is to investigate it and
ftree.
