[sane-devel] Too New to be Crazy

I am new to this so please excuse my lack of detailed knowledge.  I am
trying to build sane-backends-1.0.22 but, obviously, I am not doing
something right.  I get this message when doing the configure" Warning:
sane-backends will be built without libusb support."  Of course my
scanner is a Canon DR-2080C on USB.  From there I go nowhere.  How do I
get libusb.  I am using RHEL 5
