[sane-devel] scanner Epson DX4250 not working in Ubuntu 11.10

Hello

after upgrading to Ubuntu 11.10 my Epson Stylus DX4250, while working
as a printer, is no more found as a scanner by xsane

> grep 4b8 /etc/sane.d/epson.conf
usb 0x04b8 0x0820

> grep 0820 /lib/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules 
ATTRS{idVendor}=="04b8", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0820", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes" root at fornace4:/usr/site/doc/linux#


I understand the same problem affects many other users of Ubuntu
11.10, either with the same scanner or with different devices.


Is this a bug of SANE ?
