The BBC carried an article[1] on this as well.  It mentioned that other
users were also seeing this on other models but was not clear whether it
was limited to Xerox scanners.  The article you cited also lists a few
Xerox ColorQubes as affected and mentioned that the problem may be
caused by the way JBig2 compression is used.
