That's correct. At least sane-find-scanner says: chip=GL842.

Do you have a physical access to the device?

If not, I can grant you an access to a devel system where the

scanner is connected. I can also pre-install any linux distribution

you want. No problem with that. Online comunication is not

a problem at all (IRC, Jabber, ...). Just tell me ...
