Hi.

I'm installing a scanner HP OfficeJet J4660 multifunction of the
scanimage-L command, it displays correctly as below

root at uirapuru:~# scanimage -L
device `hpaio:/usb/Officejet_J4660_series?serial=BR24IGF0RK052W' is a
Hewlett-Packard Officejet_J4660_series all-in-one
root at uirapuru:~#

if I try to scan from the command line works

root at uirapuru:~# scanimage -d
hpaio:/usb/Officejet_J4660_series?serial=BR24IGF0RK052W --format=pnm >
scan.pnm

insert the file in dll.conf hpaio lines and installed hplip installed
without error in saned.conf enter the network that is allowed access to
the scanner and performed saned.

From a windows station I can scan with sanetwain software, inform only
the saned server ip address and port 6566. However on a client linux
ubuntu desktop xsane does not work, I even informing the ip address of
the server onfile net.conf it says that i will not find anything. I
tried to run scanimage orxsane in client ubuntu as follows unsuccessful.

root at recidwork01:~# scanimage -d
net:192.168.0.254:hpaio:/usb/Officejet_J4660_series?serial=BR24IGF0RK052W --format
pnm > aaa
scanimage: open of device
net:192.168.0.254:hpaio:/usb/Officejet_J4660_series?serial=BR24IGF0RK052W failed:
Invalid argument
root at recidwork01:~#

root at recidwork01:~# xsane
net:192.168.0.254:hpaio:/usb/Officejet_J4660_series?serial=BR24IGF0RK052W >
bbb

This xsane display the message "invalid argument"

Where am I going wrong, I tried to compile the latest version of xsane
and not use the ubuntu repos. I'm putting this sane for a Telecentre for
digital inclusion project. I thank you.

Regards
