The fail logs from the past couple of days were all with the newest kernel.
So the problem remains with the current kernel and it was only on one
occasion that by chance the scanner completed a scan and that just happened
to be with the new kernel soon after it was installed. I suspect that
repeated attempts with the previous kernel would not have made much
difference.
