[sane-devel] Error message: Failed to start scanner: Invalid argument

Likely somebody with an Epson will need to help; but in the meantime, perform 
the following task and try restarting XSane.

$ mv /home/user/.sane /home/user/.sane-20160424

Basically removing the .sane/ configuration folder containing Sane/XSane 
settings, and allowing the XSane to recreate the default settings.
