Hi Horst
You need an updated package, so recompiling may be the way to go. If
you are on Ubuntu, Rof Bensch's PPA (see https://launchpad.net/~rolfben
sch/+archive/ubuntu/sane-git) may help you. Otherwise check the
INSTALL.LINUX.
