Hi there,
Thanks for accepting me at this list.
I have been experimenting with linear CCDs to create images for a few years
now. For many years I have used HP2200c scanner parts and Vuescan to
control them. Since the beginning of this lockdown, I have been playing
again with a Linux machine and experimenting with software I have not used
in a while.
I have tried to use Sane before, maybe in 2005 or 2006, but gave up on it
simply because Vuescan was easier at the time. But after this recent
exploration, I decided to see if I could make it work for me again.
Not sure exactly where I could invest my time in, but I would need to able
to avoid the initial calibration in every scan (this much I know I can do
in the conf file), if possible then ignore the lamp and the step motor to
increase the frame rate and simply scan an image in maximum crop, maybe
control exposure if possible.
Would any of these be possible? Should I look into the plustek back end?
Modify it?
Best regards,
Guilherme
