Hello Ralph,
Thanks.

You mean 600? Anyway, I think that was my try to change conf "/etc/sane.d/artec_eplus48u.conf" (I think).

Is it not possible I will look at the code and try to figure out? I am trying to reuse that scanner; don't want to create e-waste (Climate Change Nut ;-)). Do have couple of decades of programming experience although in windows.

Sorry, I thought UMAX or UMAX_pp *was* the backend. Does "backend" means something different in context of SANE?
Yes, we have a few umax backends. However, our "backends" are focused primarily on the technology in the scanner rather than the brand.
Many models are rebrands of scanners by other manufacturers or use "scanner-on-a-chip" tech that is shared by many models across brands.
It is possible that this scanner has, for example, a genesys chip which would be supported by the genesys backend.

It's "Bus 005 Device 003: ID 080d:0104 Teco Image Systems Co., Ltd 3.2Slim"
OK, it looks like this machine shares the USB id with Astraslim and the Astraslim 6000, both of which are unfortunately not supported currently.
This probably means that internally these scanners are much the same.
We would need to know more about the scanner before we could ascertain if it could be easily supported by the SANE project.
Unless a developer has access to one of these machines and the will to take it on, supporting it is unlikely in the near future. :(
Cheers,
Ralph
