[sane-devel] SANE_CAP_AUTOMATIC

Hi,
A user has asked a question about options that have the "auto" capability
and I am at a loss to give a satisfactory answer.
What might be the difference between a default value for an option (not
setting it at all) and one selected by setting the option with
SANE_ACTION_SET_AUTO?

Is it merely the case of providing a way to override a previous setting and
restoring whatever the default might have been?
