this is a bug report

i have set up my scanner on skanlite so no help is needed by me

while setting up a flat bed scanner canoscan 5600f i instlled 3 programs
to run the scanner

skanlite

xscan

gimp

skanlite set up and runs the scanner

both gimp and xscan would connect up to the scanner  and find home

when a scan request was sent the scanner would start scanning with no
output to the preview screen and would stall at the bottom of the page

waiting up to three hours the scan did not preceed beyond this point.

because this happend on both xsane and gimp i am assuming that this is a
driver issue. with sane

if any help is needed to explore this i can be contacted through email

i am adding my system settings
