Of course I'm serious. Now I want to make sure we got it right:
- I can try to help with the "snapscan" backend mostly, I didn't mean,
  for example, the whole SANE :-)
- while I don't expect my scanner to die quickly, it is still possible,
  and I guess that would mean the end of this - without access to the
  actual hardware I wouldn't be able to test anything. OTOH I would
  probably start to use some other backend in such case.
- I'm not guaranteed to last for the next 15 years either :-)
