Changes compared to v3.0.15:
* Fix import creating an extra page when a PDF contains a soft mask or
stencil image, e.g. a PDF created including an image with a
transparent layer.
Closes #43 (Added page when opening a PDF created from a transparent
image)
* Improve threshold tool behaviour for colour images.
Closes #20 (threshold does poorly for colour images)
* Optimise PDF pipeline tasks by storing a compact intermediate blob
instead of always re-encoding to PNG
* When importing many pages, continue to display thumbnail in image
viewer to show the UI is alive, but only show the last page at the
correct resolution in order to allow the UI to keep up.
* Refuse to save PDFs estimated to exceed 2 GiB, since downstream tools
(img2pdf, Ghostscript, pikepdf) overflow 32-bit file offsets at that
size and produce corrupt output. Documented the three known overflow
bugs in README.md for future reference.
* Fix Undo resurrecting pages that existed before "New File" was used.
New File now clears the document through the document thread like
ordinary page deletion, making the clear itself an undoable step.
Closes #74 (Undo brings old pages back to life)
* Fix ADF/duplex scans importing only the first page on some Brother
scanners (e.g. the DS-740D), which prefetch the reverse side of a
sheet and discard it when the session is cancelled between pages. The
session is no longer cancelled between pages when scanning from a
feeder; it is still cancelled at the end of the batch, when the
requested page count is reached, on error, or when the scan is
cancelled. Multi-page flatbed batches now follow gscan2pdf semantics,
honouring the "Force new scan job between pages" preference.
Closes #73 (Second page is ignored in duplex scanning mode)
