You indicated that you installed version **4.71**.

The limitations you're experiencing are due to that version itself: it
is limited to a maximum scan resolution of **150 DPI** and, even worse,
it still uses **GTK2**, which is no longer supported.

The version available in my repository:
https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/thierry1970/

uses **GTK3**, supports scanning up to **600 DPI**, and also allows the
use of **SANE** tools (provided your distribution supports them).

From everything you've posted so far, we know that your scanner is
connected via **USB** and that two drivers detect it: **PIXMA** and
**AirScan**.

It's possible that the PIXMA driver is being interfered with by
**ipp-usb**, which enables AirScan (eSCL) devices to work over USB.

You should try uninstalling or disabling **ipp-usb** (the AirScan driver
will no longer be available) and then test the PIXMA driver again as
described in my previous messages.

As a last resort, uninstall your current version of **ScanGear** and
install the one from the repository mentioned above, which is version
**4.90**.

Good luck!

Thierry
