Package: libselinux1
Version: 2.1.12-1
Severity: important

Hi!

The version from experimental grew a new depedendency (libpcre3), and
with libselinux1 being pseudo-essential itself, this means any new
dependencies are going to be pulled into the pseudo-essential set too.

I've just checked the git repository and it seems the code got
switched from the glibc regex engine to pcre only for performance
reasons (commit 091eb526dd2036d993517d09e4fc67b2bec3ec5e), so making
the engine to use selectable at build time does not seem too difficult.
Either that or if the dependency is really desirable then I think it
would make sense to bring this up on debian-devel for discussion, even
if the policy does not (currently) require it for packages in the
pseudo-essential set, only for “Essential: yes” ones.

Thanks,
Guillem
