This is the fourth report for the "Britney improvements" project, which
is part of Google Summer of Code. As before, the code is hosted within
the subversion repository of the soc-coordination alioth project [1].

= Current Status =

All the features planned at the beginning of the project have been
implemented, except the support for the udeb support. This last point
will be implemented in the next days.

Thanks to Andreas Barth, we have set up a testing machine where britney
runs on a daily basis to check the differences between the old and the new
update excuses and Heidi results. The test started yesterday, and both the
result of yesterday and today are positive: this means that the output is
the same, and running the old code or the new one would have been equivalent
for the testing update.

Britney supports now two run modes: compatible and not compatible. The
former tries to emulate the old britney behaviour, and the generated
output is quite similar to the old one. The latter tries to optimize the
list of performed actions in order to improve performances. The tests are
ran in compatibility mode, obviously.

= Next task =

In the next days, udeb support will be implemented. After this step, the
remaining time will be spent to test the code and to split the main
class in three different classes: data input/output, excuses generation
and upgrade run.

As always, any feedback is welcome.
