yet!]
Hi!
In case you have forgotten, today is the first day of the GSoC,
time to start coding!
You are very welcome to send a report (or blog) about how your
bonding period went and if ask if you have any doubts.
There are some small things we want to tell/ask you all:
- Please, send me in a private email how to contact you in case
we don't have news from you. At least a phone number (include
all the needed prefixes for international calls!).
- If you haven't yet, please add your project proposal to
the Debian wiki so everybody interested in the Debian community
can know more about your project and maybe even help you with
ideas and suggestions.
- If you have a blog where you are planning to publish posts
about your project, please let us know so we can include it
on Planet Debian. Add a hackergotchi if you have one.
Also, take a look at http://wiki.debian.org/PlanetDebian,
especially the "What Can I Post On Planet" part.
- There are *two* compulsory evaluations students and mentors
must file. If the student and mentor do not file it, Google will
mark the project as failed and won't fund the student.
If you are a mentor who can not file the evaluations, please
let to know in advance so a orga admin can file it for you.
The dates are:
- midterm 11-15 July at 19:00 UTC
- final 22-26 August at 19:00 UTC
- *VERY IMPORTANT* Besides the Google evaluations, students
must write 5 reports that should be sent to this mailing list[1]
If you are planning to blog those reports, please email
a copy to this list anyway. Do not send a link, send the text
itself to the list so it gets archived for future years.
We haven't thought yet what happens if a student fails to
send a report, please do not make us have to do it ;)
So the calendar for the reports is the following:

Reports should be send the Friday of the pointed weeks with a deadline
of the following Monday. For example, the first report should be send
between Friday 2 June and Monday 6 June.
About the hour, as long as it is 2 June somewhere it will do it ;)
Please, be verbose in the reports. Tell us what you did, what you tried
to do, how you failed in what you tried, and what your plans for
the future are.
If you have any questions, please ask here or in IRC #debian-soc
at irc.oftc.net
