I would like to suggest the following time (that I have no time to mentor).

  Write regression tests
  ======================
  
  Category: QA
  Difficulty: medium
  
  Write regression tests that can be later converted to DEP 8 format (that is,
  not-build-time tests).

To bootstrap the tasks, the following could be added:


  Propose framework for automated testing Desktop and Web interfaces
  ==================================================================
  
  Category: Research
  Dificulty: hard
  
  Investigate tools for automated testing programs with a Desktop or a web
  interface, and propose the use of one of them with a well-documented example.
