I don't know whether it's worth breaking cmdline compatibility and
the effort. I can only speak for myself, but I'm setting most sr
config through enviroment vars and rarely use arguments for that.

BTW:
As you might know surfraw is joint-maintained through Alioth. If
you're interested in joining I'd suggest that someone gives you
write access to CVS.
