I have submitted a patch upstream (back in December) that allows
syslog-ng to be built against the monolithic libsystemd. Now I opened an
issue asking them to backport that change to 3.6 too. Once that is done,
I'll upload an updated package to experimental (and once Jessie is out,
to unstable too).
