Not sure if that helps anyhow: I'm failing to reproduce the FTBFS on
i386. No, this is not a buildd, just an unstable installation.

I must admit that the build log is quite huge, which /could/ cause a
"memory exhausted", if one tries to parse that file.

Indeed after downgrading bison to the version from testing the build log
is much smaller by factor 1000.
