I don't have any problem as such, but there is one thing here which I
learnt from my previous experience so I need to be sure that you have
considered it!

    Why do you want to use 1.4? By this I mean, what specific
functionality is missing from 1.3 that you want to use 1.4 _and_ that
you cannot do without?

Only after you have carefully considered this should you think about
using the backport (and that too when it is available). I am not
discouraging you but IMO it's better to use 1.3 unless there is a
compelling reason to use 1.4.

This is what I feel, we will wait for Andreas to comment :)
