oh, right; perhaps I misread. Yes, it said that (when purging it all
then installing it again), and etckeeper reports only K symlinks in
rc*.d/ directories. Sorry about the confusion.

It does, but things all work out:

this did the trick, both spd-say and orca (with musescore3) now work.

I reported this as success to MuseScore upstream, and so besides #948676
and AudioOutputMethod "alsa" in /etc/speech-dispatcher/speechd.conf
(possibly), things work.

Feel free to lower severity of #948679 (this one) accordingly, as it
starts fine as regular user.
