Hello,
This is to bring to your notice the project I've proposed and plan
to code this Summer. I'm Harish B doing my UG (Bachelor of Technology)
degree in Information Technology in Pondicherry Engineering College. I am
the son of a Mathematics teacher, so I had a basic interest in the subject
from childhood. There are so many tricks and shortcuts that can make Math
very easy and interesting and I intend to popularise that. I’m well versed
with C, C++ and am highly interested in Speed Mathematics, Algebra and
Calculus. I am planning to better my Python knowledge too so as to bring
out an interactive way to exhibit Vedic Mathematics which is very popular
in India. I’m a Math Wiz Kid Winner from International Mathematical
Olympiad at School level and also undergone training in Abacus and Vedic
Mathematics for three years and have a personal interest in solving many
mathematical puzzles.
Please do consider my project proposal and give me a chance by accepting to
mentor me in the below mentioned project, which will benefit many kids
across the globe and actually get them to like Math even if they hate it
initially! :)

*Project:*

· *Title:* VedMatics

· *Project Synopsis:* An interactive approach to the traditional
and highly successful Speed Mathematics technique that is *Vedic
Mathematics.*

· *Aim:* To make Math simple and easy through various tricks and
intricacies from the sacred Vedic Mathematics of the ancient Indians. To
simplify these brilliant traditional techniques on a global scale that all
can benefit

· *Scope*: Math can be more fun by creating game-like interactive
learning apps which not only teach these valued traditional techniques but
are also a source of entertaining and amusing puzzles for all age ranges

· *Details:* I intend to bring about basic ideas even like the easy
hand method for multiplication of two 5+ numbers using both hands like
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieX9UlD087c and making it in an easy
interactive Android App or phonegap across platform app to introduce more
complex methods like the above mentioned simple example.

· *Schedule:* I will start tabulating interesting Vedic Math Ideas
and tricks right from April 9, right after my college practical exams are
over. In May, I shall start coding them into apps by mid-month as the
theory exams will be going on. But by May 3rd week my summer holidays will
start and I shall work full fledged on the coding.

Regards,

Harish
