This applies to all potential GSoC students:

We may or may not get back to your draft proposals before the deadline.
Just be sure to submit a final PDF before the deadline.  We hear that you
can post an updated final PDF even if you have already posted it, just that
you won't be able to make ANY changes to it after the deadline passed.  We
probably won't even look at proposals with final PDFs submitted until after
the deadline.  We are still working through the draft proposals and giving
feedback as we can.  Please be patient as there are a lot to go through.
Just be sure to have something posted as final PDF before the deadline.
Earlier the better as you don't want to risk missing it.
