What you have done so far?
I've been working on the code that was originally put in place ( and
was incomplete) for the word list editor. I've been mostly working out
bugs, but I have now pretty much fixed all the bugs in the list
editor, now I just need to put the final touches on actually creating
said wordlists. I've also been working on images to be used, the menu
buttons having already been implemented.
What is already working and how can it be tested?
Providing that you already create a file manually, you can edit that
file within TuxType, both adding and deleting words. Program then
saves the changes, and you can play the various word games with your
new word list.
What problems did you encounter?
The section of code I started on was very messy, so it took me a
little longer than expected to figure out what was going on, clean it
up, and start fixing bugs. Such bugs included the program not
recognizing the return key as the start of a new word, backspacing
caused the program to crash, and often garbage would be inserted into
the saved file. However, that is finally all fixed up, and I'm working
on dealing with the visual aspects of the project.
How much time you are behind or ahead in your own roadmap?
I'm about a week behind where I want to be, since I wanted the editor
completed by now. However, I think the second half of my project will
be decidedly easier since it will mostly be comprised of key loggers.
What do you plan to do next?
Finish up ChooseFile so you can create and delete files (I think I am
going to do this with buttons), and maybe try to clean up the in game
look a little. After that, I'm going to work on the report card stuff
that will keep track of overall session accuracy and will report said
information after each game is played.
