[Tux4kids-tuxtype-dev] VIsual Learning- GSoC 2016

Hello,

I am Nikita Dhiman, final year Computer Engineering student at  Mumbai
University. I would like to take part in this edition of Google Summer of
Code with Tux4Kids. I have experience in UI/UX, android development,
programming using Java,C++,PHP and python.

I found the project of Visual learning interesting and would like to know
more about the same. My interpretations of the project is as follows:
1. The user would use maps/images to better understand geography.
2. Whenever they wish to know about anything say "gold mines in the world",
then they can see the places on the map marked where gold mines are located
and when clicked on them further information about it appear in a popup
window( PFA the image example)
3. When they click on a particular location with any query they can also
see the interesting facts about that place.


The most close enough example of the similar type I could find was
Microsoft's Student Encarta which also involves quizzes after each session
of learning. The same can be implemented here if possible.

The other general example of the similar type is Duolingo, which encourages
you to take the lesson after certain intervals of time. Since the aim of
the project is to aid learning geography this might be useful as kids tend
to forget the lessons.

It would be helpful if the stages of development of this project can be
explained along with the expected outcome of each stage.
