Hi.

The packages description of gdebi* packages claim:
>apt does the same, but only for remote (http, ftp) located packages.

This is simply plain wrong and shouldn't be claimed therefore.
Even basic apt without any further transport mechanisms supports
file, cdrom and copy which are all local.
