conary - package management and maintenance?

I finally had a chance to read over the discussion. I don't see in
conary the solution to what vcs-pkg is trying to solve. However, it
would be good to have people form conary take part in discussions
here.

This is surely noble, but I doubt it'll happen anytime soon. As you
found out in the conary discussion, stuff like maintainer scripts
and other integrations differ between packages, and there's stuff
like Debian's policy and the need to track dependencies and
version accurately.

Maybe one day it'll happen. Until then, vcs-pkg tries to take the
first step, which is to facilitate the exchange of patches and
further the interaction between maintainers of different distros.
