Are you aware of the mailing list distributions at lists.freedesktop.org ?
It has been started from the efforts of Lucas and is now hosted by the
freedesktop people, there you can find several representative of a lot
of distributions.

The point is which policy do you want to follow: advertise this list
there, discuss there cross-distro efforts, ... up to you.
