Many serial UPS protocols bear some similarity to the Megatec (Q1) protocol, and can work with the blazer_ser driver with little or no modification. Also, some USB UPSes simply contain a USB-to-serial converter, which may mean that only a small USB-to-serial shim is necessary.

Have you tried the snmp-ups driver? It has an "ietf" mode which is intended for RFC1628-compatible devices:

You mentioned providing source code. Would this code be available under the GPL? If not, then we would need to work with you or someone at your company to rewrite the code since the NUT source code is all covered under the GPL.
