FWIW I would vote for not changing the *source* package name:
* It is not very visible. apt-get source whateverbinaryname works
* Changing it leaves an orphaned
  https://packages.qa.debian.org/e/e17.html behind.

Regarding the binary package name I think e is to short and would
choose enlightenment.
