My plan is:

1. tweak the packaging (as little as possible)
2. (try to) bump the version (or wait for a new version from the 
Maintainer in experimental or sid)

If you mean that older XBMC won't even compile on Raspberry Pi then I'd 
have to reverse the order ;)
