[Android-tools-devel] Packaging android-headers for libhybris

Hi,
I would like to package libhybris [1] for use in Debian Lomiri [2] [3]
packages. libhybris depends on android-headers. More specifically, the
project provides a script, utils/extract-headers.sh, [2] to extract
the specific headers it needs from the Android source code and add a
few files the libhybris build expects like android-headers.pc and
android-config.h.
The output of the script is available here for Android 11 (2020) (API 30):
https://github.com/Halium/android-headers/tree/halium-11.0
There are other versions in other branches but that is what the Ubuntu
Touch project appears to be using now.
I see that several different packages are available in Debian but they
don't provide the right set of files needed. There is a little
duplication:
android-libcutils-dev ships the files needed in the cutils/ directory
(plus a few more files).
android-platform-system-core-headers ships some of the files needed in
the system/ directory.
I propose creating a new Debian package
named android-headers
versioned 11~halium~20260606
shipping files in /usr/include/android/11/ :
/usr/include/android/11/android-config.h
/usr/include/android/11/cutils/android_filesystem_config.h
etc.
I prefer to use the name android-headers since that's what this
project is known as in the libhybris community. We could also name it
something like android-headers-libhybris if we need to be more
specific.
The package could be comaintained in Debian by the Android Tools and
Debian UBports teams. It's the Debian UBports team that wants this
package, but the Android SDK and tools are generally packaged in the
Android Tools team.
