[Babel-users] IPV6_SUBTREEs autodetection?

I would like to find a way to automagically detect whether IPV6_SUBTREES is

A) compiled into the kernel
B) actually works

I have gained quite a bit of understanding how rtnetlink works since
last I poked at it, so I think A) is easy. B)... not so sure.

Has anyone else poked into this detection issue?
