We have another frontend which itself is a client of the debconf passthrough 
frontend. It is implemented natively in C++ and would be free of qt4-perl 
bindings. I will try to implement a Frontend/Kde.pm wrapper for it. Would you 
accept it? Once I'm done, I will report another bug.

It does not look like qt4-perl and qt/kde smoke bindings have a bright future 
in Debian at this point as nobody wants to package a standalone version. Maybe 
somebody interested will reintroduce them later.
