I pushed new stuff to github, please check it out.  If you could try it
on a PowerPC porter machine, that would be wonderful.

Then please upload, let's pass NEW now and refine the final release
later and quickly.  You can also push my changes to Alioth then, or I'll
do that when the new package hits unstable.
