Hi, I am no expert whatsoever in the English language but by
the context of the paragraph seems correct the way was written.

This edition covers version 7 of Debian, code-named Wheezy. Among the
changes,
*Debian now sports two new ar- chitectures *— s390x as a replacement for
s390, for
IBM System Z mainframe computers, and armhf for ARM processors with a
hardware
floating point arithmetic unit.

In this case "sports" refers to a way of say that Debian (now)
"displays"[1] or
"wears"[1] or "includes" or "now has" two new architectures.
Otherwise the phrase would read something like "... Debian (is now/was)
ported
to two
new architectures..."

Hope it helps!
