This part is fully OK
Though, you made me think about one point:
I had to change /etc/fstab to mount the nfs4 share onto another location
>From memory, it should be like this
/dev/mapper/lvhome /lan/mainserver/home0 default,usrquota 0 2
And indeed, the directory isn't mounted.
I will check the /etc/exports for any dependency.
After a double check on server side, home dirs are well created and remains
as is if I test the user locally on the server.
As the nfs share isn't mounted, I understand the client can't open it's
session.
Right now I will leave computers for a few hours.
I get back later with more informations and I'll check the dns zones as you
suggested.
