  There is absolutely no reason to let an RC bug rot, especially if it's
a trivial bug to fix. And if you broke your ability to upload the
package in testing, that's your problem, really. IMSHO the current
bioperl in unstable should have been in experimental if it's not ready
for the release, not blocked by another RC bug.

  That's not my package, that's your work as a maintainer to take care
of your package in each suite it's in.  For all I care, bioperl has
almost no reverse dependencies, and I see no problem to remove it from
testing if it's not of the required quality.
