Cool!!!  Would you mind subscribing the Debian Med mailing lists as
mentioned in Debian Med team policy[1]?  It would be really great if
you could write some short introduction to let other team members
know about another DD interested in NGS software.

BTW, if you know some software inside Debian that is not on our radar[2]
please let us know!

Any DD has commit permissions (if not please let me know).  On the other
hand it makes perfect sense to add you to the Debian Med alioth project.

Great to use packaged version.

>From the other patches I did removed here in this mail it seems that you
did not used pristine-tar as it is recommended in our policy[1] (or may
be I misread the patch).  At least it is not usual to discuss upstream
changes here except there is some relevant change for the packaging.
