I would like to explain why I did consider following the advise without
any question:

  1. The images really do not deserve beeing kept.
  2. By using the proposed uscan enhancements
       https://wiki.debian.org/UscanEnhancements
it is a simple one liner (actually two liner because d/watch also
needed a small adjust ment to handle +dfsg) - so why not
     following the request.
I'm happy about any test case for the new uscan ... and really hope
that it will make its way into official devscripts.
  3. There is some extra profit from repackaging by a shrink of the
     original tarball to one third.

Thanks for your comment anyway. I guess Luka as new ftp-assistant
(thanks again Luke for volunteering) is happy about kind and friendly
advises to deal with things like this. As I said in this case it was
cheap, there are other even less urgent reasons to repack and finally
the repackaging itself took less time than the discussion about it.

Kind regards

       Andreas.
