To bring the packaging forward, yes I agree.  Will you also keep the
name slicer or will you choose slicer4 as binary name?  If the later
might be the case it would help to at least update the d/control file
which then could be used to add it to the tasks file and would create
a new entry on the tasks page.  This could be reasonable to drop some
information for users who might be curious what's going on.
