Since ftpmaster has accepted the package I think there is no need to take
immediate action.

I'd consider it reasonable to fix this in a next upstream version in
case this is to be expected in the next couple of weeks.  Just as an
explanation if you would not be upstream what your way as a Debian
developer would be is the following:

   1. ask upstream to remove the file in question
   2. if this would not happen in a reasonable time frame add the
      file to Files-Excluded in debian/copyright and recreate
      a tarball without this file.
   3. Upload with Version <upstreamversion>+dfsg (where "+dfsg" is
      a flag that we did some adaptations to the original tarball
      to meet DFSG (latest uscan will do this versioning for you if
      you use FIles-Excluded)
