[Debian-med-packaging] Please consider tagging librdp-readseq releases

Hi,

Tim Booth from BioLinux has created inofficial packages from
librdp-readseq (as well as from librdp-alignment and
librdp-taxonomy-tree - I have not checked whether the same authors are
responsible here but the issue is the same here) to enable packaging
rdp-classifier for Debian. The Debian Med team supports this attempt
since we try to integrate all free software which is relevant for
biology and medicine right into Debian.

While we could surely base the packaging on certain commits on Github
this is not an optimal situation. For instance our usual tools to find
out automatically about new releases will fail and we need to implement
non-standard means to create a source distribution tarball. So it would
be of great help for us if you would consider tagging releases on Github
which enables us to download a versioned tarball.

Thanks for considering and thanks for providing librdp-readseq as Free
Software

    Andreas.
